The Gentex Smoke Detector is a 120 VAC photoelectric single station smoke detector designed to provide reliable early warning of smoke where both audible and visual alarms are required. Operates on the “light scatter” principle, utilizing a pulsing LED light source and a photodiode sensor in a fully screened sensing chamber. Smoke entering the chamber deflects the infrared beam and triggers the alarm. During the alarm period, the strobe will flash at a brightness of 177 candela, 60 times per minute.
