What does Oxygen Safe or O2 Safe mean?
Oxygen safe products have gone through and passed testing to be safe for use in an environment where Oxygen therapy is in use. Use of a Non-Oxygen safe product in this environment could possibly create a potential fire hazard.

How do I determine what nurse call system I have?
Your nurse call system can be identified by determining the plug style used and your station wiring. A number of helpful diagrams and photos are available in the Crest catalog for matching plug styles. If you need help identifying the nurse call system(s) in use at your facility, please call the Technical Support staff at Crest Healthcare Supply and they will be happy to assist you.

What is a nurse call interface?
A nurse call interface is a receptacle on a product that allows the item to be tied into a nurse call station. A cable (sometimes referred to as a nurse call adapter cable) is needed to plug into the nurse call interface on the product and then connected into the wall station. By allowing this connection to the nurse call system, a nurse call interface provides increased alarming/annunciation capabilities by allowing an external product to place a call on the nurse call system. Nurse call interfaces are common on many fall prevention devices.

What does it mean if an item is marked as a "bariatric product"?
The term “bariatric product” is used to indicate items from Crest that have a larger weight capacity. Because there is not a standard weight limit that is associated with items listed as “bariatric,” it is important that you check the actual weight capacity of individual products to ensure that they fit your needs and are safe for use by your patients.

Can I bend, fold or roll a sensor pad?
No—you should never bend, fold or roll a sensor pad unless explicitly instructed to do so by the manufacturer. Sensor pads contain a delicate grid of sensors that are used to relay information back to the fall prevention monitor when a patient gets on or off of the pad. Bending, folding or rolling can permanently damage this grid, causing the pad to fail. It is important to keep sensor pads completely flat both when in storage and when in use for your patients’ safety. (Bent, folded or rolled sensor pads is considered abuse and is not warranted by Crest or its manufacturers.)

What does it mean if a product is “hospital grade”?
Hospital grade means that the product’s assembly or outlet meets the requirements for a “Hospital Grade” plug or receptacle. There are certain criteria that must be met in order to wear this moniker, but the key features include:
 

  • A slightly longer ground blade so that it stays engaged with the ground circuit until the power blades are completely disengaged.
  • Strength requirements for the strain relief and connections of the conductors to the blade terminals themselves.
  • The cable needs to meet certain minimum UL standards.
  • The blades must fit into the receptacle and hold with a certain degree of force
  • “Hospital Grade “ plugs and receptacles will have a Green dot affixed to the face to indicate that rating.
     

What are OEM products?
OEM products are items produced by the Original Equipment Manufacturer. These “brand name” items are produced for use with a system by the system’s manufacturer.

What are Crest Replacement for OEM products?
Crest Replacement for OEM products are high-quality, durable items made by Crest Healthcare Supply that are designed to match the form, fit and function of some OEM items. Crest Replacement products can offer a cost savings to the customer over OEM items, and can sometimes provide alternatives when OEM parts are not available.

What is the difference between locking and non-locking call cords?
A locking call cord resets at the nurses station and on the call cord itself. A non-locking call cords resets at the patient’s bedside station.

What is the difference between maintained buzzers and momentary buzzers?
A maintained buzzer holds the call; a momentary buzzer only holds a call as long as you are pushing the button.

When ordering wheelchair parts, how is right and left determined?
When ordering wheelchair parts, right and left is determined while sitting in the wheelchair.

When ordering over bed lights, how is right and left determined?
When ordering over bed lights, right and left is determined while standing at the foot of the bed and looking at the light on the wall.

How many light bulbs come in a box?
All light bulbs are sold individually.

What if I can't find the item I'm looking for?

Do you have an order minimum?
No, there is no order minimum. 

What will the freight be on this order?
Freight is decided by the weight and distance. All freight is F.O.B. origin with freight charges prepaid and added to the invoice. It is recommended that purchaser contact Crest for a freight quote if you have questions.

What is your return policy?
If you order the wrong item, or you are dissatisfied with your purchase, please call for a Return Authorization number (RA#). Return the item along with a copy of your invoice within 30 days from the date of invoice. We will replace the item or issue credit to your account. All items must be in original packaging and in sellable condition or restocking fees may apply. All items returned after 30 days from date of invoice will be subject to a restocking fee. What does it mean if I see the following error message when setting up my Crest website account? "Cannot locate customer ID. Please contact the store owner."
Your password is longer than 12 characters. Please change your password to be 12 characters or less. 

What do the icons to the right of the product descriptions and prices mean?
The product icons appear as follow:

Each icon means something different. If one or more of the icon appears by a product it means that the respective description applies to that item.

  1. Green Check – “Guaranteed In Stock” = This product is guaranteed in stock or we’ll ship freight-free ground.
  2. NA in Purple Box – “No Air Shipments” = This product cannot be shipped by air due to regulatory reasons.
  3. TS in Red Box – “Truck Ship Only” = Due to size or other restrictions this item cannot be shipped via common carrier. Truck shipped items may require additional shipping time and cost, call for a quote.
  4. PU in Grey Box – “Personal Use Item” = For sanitary or safety purposes this item is not returnable if removed from the original packaging.
  5. DS in Blue Box – “Drop Ship Item” = This product is shipped direct from the factory to you.
  6. CA in Light Purple Box – “CA Fire Barrier” = Mattresses shipping into California require an additional fire safety barrier. Adding this barrier may incur additional costs.
